Primary Ensembles 

Oakton Singers

Oakton Singers, our advanced-level mixed ensemble, performs advanced SATB choral literature while developing and expanding their knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, sight singing, and musicianship.  In addition to participation in full-department concerts and events, Oakton Singers regularly performs at Oakton High School's graduation and, in the past few years, has collaborated with the Oakton Chamber Orchestra on a choral masterwork. An audition at the end of the preceding school year is needed for placement in Oakton Singers. Generally, 9-12 grade boys and 10-12 grade girls are considered, with the majority of the class being upperclassmen.


Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir, our advanced-level women's ensemble, performs advanced SSAA choral literature while developing and expanding their knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, sight singing, and musicianship.  In addition to participation in full-department concerts and events, Chamber Choir regularly performs the National Anthem at Oakton Volleyball's Dig Pink Event and has previously collaborated with the Oakton Chamber Orchestra on a choral masterwork. An audition at the end of the preceding school year is needed for placement in Chamber Choir. Generally, 10-12 grade girls are considered for this ensemble.


Treble Choir

Treble Choir, our intermediate-level women's ensemble, performs SSAA choral literature while developing and expanding their knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, sightsinging, and musicianship. Generally, all 9th grade girls are placed in Treble Choir to encourage group bonding and allow for acclimation to the high school program. 9-12 grade girls are considered for this ensemble.


Mens Choir

Mens Choir, our intermediate-level mens ensemble, performs TTBB choral literature while developing and expanding their knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, sightsinging, and musicianship. Generally, 9-12 grade boys are considered for this ensemble.
